Charles W. Sawyer, Jr. * CEP ®, RFC ®
Chairman and CEO
Charles W. Sawyer, Jr. is the managing partner and founder of Sawyer Wealth Management and has been providing financial planning services for more than 30 years. His primary focus is working with pre-retirees, retirees and their families in the areas of financial planning and estate planning. Charles also focuses on the complex needs of small business owners, corporate executives and employer sponsored retirement plans. Professionally, Charles is a certified estate planner, registered financial consultant, registered investment advisor rep., and a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table’s Top of the Table. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA). Personally, Charles enjoys working with many charitable organizations, including the Alzheimer’s Association, Special Operations Warrior Foundation, American Cancer Society and the V Foundation. Charles and his wife, Jane, live in New Freedom, PA. They have six children and eight grandchildren. Charles holds FINRA Series 6, 63, 26, and 65 registrations. In addition, he is also licensed in life and health insurance.

Jane Sawyer
Partner, Vice President
Jane began her career in the medical field working alongside patients and assisting doctors. She worked her way up the ladder to office manager, where she resided for five years. She joined Sawyer Wealth Management in 2008 and brought her valuable experience to the firm. Jane leads the operations function for the business in addition to developing all operations processes and procedures. She works closely with Charles and the staff to develop and implement strategies that coincide with the objectives of the company and its clients. Jane is also licensed in life and health insurance. Outside of work Jane enjoys spending time with her family and cherishes every moment she gets to spend with her eight grandchildren watching them grow and learn. Her commitment to family in and outside of work transcends into Sawyer Wealth Management each and every day.

Brian Pacen * CFP ®, CIMA ®, CPWA ®
Chief Investment Officer
Brian is a Certified Financial Planner™, Certified Investment Management Analyst™ and also a Certified Private Wealth Advisor®. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in economics. Brian holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, 66, 9, and 10 licenses. In addition, he is also licensed in life and health insurance and property and casualty insurance. Brian is a second-generation wealth advisor that has dedicated over 15 years to helping clients navigate some of their most important life events and decisions. In his role as our chief portfolio manager, Brian specializes in asset allocation and custom portfolio creation including alternative investments, custom security creation and tax efficient investing. As a wealth advisor, he assists clients with holistic financial planning and complex planning strategies. Brian lives in Finksburg with his wife, Jessica, and their two children, Josh and Charlotte.

Kevin Lutz ***
Wealth Advisor
Kevin is an experienced wealth advisor with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services and accounting industry. He holds FINRA Series 66. In addition, he is also holds a Maryland life and health insurance license. Kevin has dedicated over 25 years in the financial services industry. He specializes in wealth management, holistic financial planning and risk management. He is on the board of directors for Baltimore Outreach Services and The Boys’ Latin School. Kevin’s outside interests include golf, fishing, boating, and spending time with his friends and family.

Jeanette Ratner
Director of Marketing
Jeanette Ratner is the director of marketing. Jeanette works primarily with retired individuals, their families, and those who are in the process of planning for their retirement. Jeanette also works with the Veterans Outreach Program helping veterans receive the financial assistance they need to insure their nursing home care. She makes time to be involved with professional associations as well as community organizations in the Baltimore area that help seniors cope with the continually changing social and financial problems associated with aging. Jeanette has four children and three grandchildren.

Leah A. Gray, FPQP ®
Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional, Senior Planning Associate, Executive Associate to the Chairman and CEO
Leah joined Sawyer Wealth Management in January 2014 and made an immediate impact. She is a Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional and brings over 25 years of financial services experience. Leah’s responsibilities span all spectrums from assisting Charles, client planning, and advanced customer service. She is confident, resourceful and amazing with clients. Leah is a lifelong resident of Harford County, where she lives with her son.

Lisa Callender
New Business Team Leader
Lisa joined the Sawyer Wealth Management team after spending nearly 30 years working in the banking industry. In her role, processing client applications, her exceptional organizational skills are an asset to the firm. As our new business team lead, she also assists in client service follow-up and can quickly report on the status of pending cases and requests. Lisa is married to Jane and Jeanette’s brother Steven and has two sons.

Thomas Sawyer
Director of Client Service
Thomas Sawyer joined the family business in 2016 and is currently the director of the service department. He assists with the planning team and preparation for client meetings and reviews, along with general office administrative projects, and all customer service needs. Tom holds his life and health insurance, series 6, series 63, and series 65 licenses.
Tom is Charles' son and continues the tradition of the Sawyer family working together. He is married to Tori and has two children, Thomas Jr. and Lillian.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf.

Terri Szekely-Berry
Client Service Associate
Terri Szekely-Berry joined the Sawyer Wealth Management team in 2016. With over 30 years of experience in the insurance/financial industry, she is a welcome addition to our team. As a processor in our service area, Terri assists with processing our brokerage accounts as well as client service follow-up and questions. Terry is married to Steven Berry and they have two daughters, Julia and Jessica.

Clayton Neal
Client Service Associate
Clayton joined the Sawyer Wealth Management team in June 2025 and assists with administrative tasks, client support needs, and office projects to help ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
He lives with his wife Lindsey and enjoys playing and recording music in his spare time.

Patrick Meadowcroft
Client Service Associate
Patrick is a recent addition to the client service team at Sawyer Wealth Management. Patrick graduated from University of Maryland in 2019 with a bachelor’s in economics. With prior work experience in client service, wealth management, accounting and brokerage services, he has a solid foundation to start his financial career at Sawyer Wealth Management. Patrick holds his FINRA Series 7 registration and will assist with the planning and reviewing processes.

Jamie Adams
Administrative Assistant
Jamie joined Sawyer Wealth Management in January of 2025 after spending nearly 15 years as a Registered Nurse working in the field of pain management. She was eager to try something new, so she now works at our front desk as the Administrative Assistant. Jamie resides in Harford County with her husband Nick and their two children, Nathan and Macie. Jamie is Jane's daughter.

Lawrence Adashek
Esquire
Larry earned his Juris Doctor Degree from The Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America in 1994. In May 1996, he opened Lawrence Adashek, P.A. to assist clients with their estate planning, elder law and business advisory service needs. Larry actively participates several of professional associations. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and is an officer and member of the Elder Law Section of the Maryland State Bar Association. He is also a frequent lecturer on the subjects of estate planning and elder law.

Mariela C. D’Alessio
Ms. D'Alessio regularly meets with clients to implement a personalized and comprehensive estate plan, which often includes a Last Will and Testament, Living Will, Medical and Financial Powers of Attorney, and Trusts. In addition to the drafting of a client's unique estate plan, Ms. D'Alessio can assist clients with various transactional needs such as business formation, review and drafting of business contracts/agreements, real estate transactions such as deeds, contracts of sale, and leases, both commercial and residential.
Ms. D'Alessio has lived in Harford County since 1989 when her family moved from New York. In her free time, she enjoys spending time and being active with her husband and young son. She is an avid hockey fan and also enjoys reading and cooking for her family and extended family.
